Phenix City residents have a second chance to see the ideas for riverfront and downtown redevelopment.

East Alabama Riverfront Development and its consultant, The Boulevard Group, will show a more in-depth presentation at a meeting tonight to discuss the development plans. All Phenix City and Russell County residents, and anyone interested in economic development in the city, are invited.

"It's going to go to the next step," said Sammy Howard, chairman of the development group. "The marketing plan and the types of restaurants and the types of shops. It's going to be very specific whereas before it's been general."

The meeting is from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Central Activities Center on 14th Street in Phenix City. It will focus on local development trends, white water opportunities and a master plan concept for downtown and the Phenix City riverfront.

Howard said the response from the public has been good so far. "Probably 90 percent of what I get is good and positive," he said.
